Eric Sedler is a founding member and Partner at ASK Public Strategies. Sedler serves as an issues management expert at the Chicago-based firm.
A Detroit native, Eric Sedler's expertise is in developing management and communications programs for complex business and public policy issues. He has worked with clients in most major industries including telecommunications, energy, financial services, health care, entertainment and land use. His clients include corporations, trade associations and advocacy organizations. He is a top-level communications expert sought out for his proficiency in conducting public opinion research, converting research data into messages and developing and executing strategic communications campaigns.
At ASK Public Strategies, Eric Sedler works on a wide range of high profile projects including the move of the Chicago Children's Museum to a new location in downtown Chicago, and Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympics. Some of Eric Sedler's career accomplishments with ASK Public Strategies include the development and implementation of a communications program for a major telecommunications company that succeeded in changing state laws in the Midwest. He directed the communications for an electric company's successful effort to secure state approval to construct new power plants, and played a lead role in a campaign to prevent state approval for a football stadium in New York City.
Prior to co-founding ASK Public Strategies, Eric Sedler managed regional corporate public relations departments in AT&T's Chicago, Atlanta and Miami offices. In that position he directed the company's corporate public affairs campaigns in the central and southeastern United States.
Earlier employment included several years at Edelman Public Relations working in the Corporate Reputation Management practice where he directed media and public affairs campaigns. Eric Sedler also spent nearly a decade working for federal, state and local officials and managed a number of successful state and local political campaigns.
Eric Sedler's commitment to community extends beyond the office. Eric Sedler currently serves on the board of directors for the West Loop Gate Community Organization as their president, a position he has held for the last six years.
Both the Public Relations Society of America and the Publicity Club of Chicago have recognized his outstanding performance and commitment to communication by awarding him the Silver Anvil Award and the Silver Trumpet Award respectively.
Eric Sedler lives in Chicago with his wife and two children. He is a graduate of the University of Illinois.
